Work Week…

Work week by julianasmith0810

Hello everyone,

Here I am as promised, I actually remembered to get the pictures of all my outfits this week. I have a couple of favorites…. The one with the recycled sari made into pants is one of my favorites. I loved wearing it… SUPER COMFORTABLE!!!

My other favorite is the one with the light blued skirt, light green sweater and the animal print boots. Those boots are my new favorite. The other outfits got some compliments too and I just enjoyed one of our last warm weeks it seems like. Next week, the weather is changing and it looks like the rain is coming.

On another note, this last week was another normal week, I have started some Spiritual Exercises, which means I will be spending more time meditating and praying. I am looking forward to taking some time to myself, and to prayer. I am just starting so nothing real to report yet but I will keep you all posted here.

As always, thank you so much for reading and stay tuned,

Hello everyone,

I am so sorry I keep promising more pictures of outfits but I have been getting home so tired that I forget to take a picture before I change. So I decided that instead of not posting, that I would share a little about our puppies.

Many of you know that we have been training Lulu since we got her and she has actually passed her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test a while back and now we are waiting to start her official Therapy training classes.

Now that we have Pepper who is only 16 weeks old, she has also started training. We hope to take her as far as Lulu too but we will have to wait and see how she does. So far she is doing really well.

They are both great dogs and Thomas has really been taking his responsibility with Pepper very seriously and doing well. Having the wagging tails when I get home is amazing and some days I wish I could spend all day with them at home. Lulu really calms me down and is always by my side keeping me company.

I really believe that there is a reason for the word dog to spell God backwards. They offer their unconditional love and ask for very little in return.

We are back in a somewhat regular routine now and some days are easier than others. This week I found out I was exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID so we will have to stay away from my parents for a couple of weeks since my dad is still recovering from major surgery and his immune system is compromised. I feel fine and I am fully vaccinated so it should be fine but we would rather be safe than sorry.

Some days I wonder if we will ever have a normal life where COVID is not such a big part of it anymore. Maybe this is our new normal and we just need to get used to it. I can just say that for those of us who already suffered of anxiety before the pandemic, this is just very difficult and anxiety is reaching a max!

My classroom

Hello everyone,

I know I have been gone for a while. I have been busy setting up our new house and dealing with a family emergency. It is all fine now and I have also started the school year again. Among all these things I have been running around and have not gotten pictures of my outfits. I will try to get some pictures of my work outfits this coming week.

Meanwhile, I thought I would share some pictures of my classroom and how I have set it up this year. The theme is daisies and I think it turned out well. I was excited about decorating a classroom again, it had been 7 years since last time I had gotten to do that.

I am truly looking forward to sharing this classroom with my students this year. It sure helps to have a place where I feel comfortable and happy.

I have also accepted to teach a couple of college classes online this semester. So it looks like I will be pretty busy the next few days to get everything ready to go.

Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned,

New House, New Look

New Look

Hello everyone.

Sorry for being MIA for a while… We have gone though a lot of changes lately and time got away from me. We have bought a new house and moved during thee weekend of 4th of July. Needless to say, we have found AGAIN, that we have way too much stuff and can’t find room for everything.

We have actually tried selling some stuff online but we have not had a lot of luck, it seems like everyone else does better with that than we do, but oh well… Now we are working on getting everything in its place and getting our spaces ready. I will post the updates as we get them done.

Below you can see our new Coffee Station. We repurposed an old dresser into a coffee station. I had a lot of fun working on this project and getting this part of the house done. Now back to the subject of my blog, as you might be able to see (or not), I have lost some weight and it is starting to show. I have actually lost 35lbs now. The above outfit is one I wore for work this summer. I could not wear sleeveless shirts so I wore a lot of kimonos. I personally really liked my outfit and it was super comfortable.

Below, I am just wearing an outfit to run errands in town. I really liked my hat with this look. This is very comfortable and it is like wearing pajamas all day so it is lovely. I did get a few compliments. I have to wear hats or bandanas in the summer so I don’t burn my head (my hair is really thin). So I have to be creative on how I wear my outfits so they look good with hats, caps or bandanas.

Stay tuned for more pictures of our new house and my new look as I continue this journey… All I am really doing is the Intermittent fasting, and it is working great!!!

My Latest Creation

Hello everyone,

So next year I should have my own classroom again and I get to decorate it as I please so I started with my stool which I painted free hand last night. I got it all done start to finish in a couple of hours.

I am very proud of it if I say so myself because I did not use any models for it, it just kind happened. I love daisies and this will inspire the rest of the classroom decoration. It has been several years since I have had my own classroom so I am very excited to get started.

Well, hope you enjoy it…

New styles…

Spring in Oregon

Hello everyone,

I am back again and this time with some of the dresses I got in Ghana last time I was there. I also have a new pair of pants from #FreePeople which are very comfortable and the best part size Medium. (Of course they are oversized, but it still feels good)

As you can also see, Lulu likes to pose for the pictures and has to be in almost all of them. She is the star and walking around with her is like walking with a celebrity. Everyone has to talk to her and ask lots of questions. It is like I became her assistant.

Today at Lucas’ second dose vaccination, she was in the car with us and they even took her picture to put on their instagram. She is just too cute for her own good.

I don’t have much else to report other than I have been teaching in person for the past couple of months and it has been fun to be back in the classroom. Getting to know the students and their unique personalities have also been a treat.

Hiking day…

Beautiful waterfall

Hello everyone,

It has been a whole month but I am back…. It has been a busy month since now I am back at work in person and I am finally teaching kids in person and online at the same time. It is a new challenge but it has been so much fun to be with the kids in person again.

This has certainly been a change to our schedules so I ended up not taking any pictures of my outfits and that is why I have not written much.

Today we went on a nice little hike and it certainly got us tired. Lulu has been asleep ever since we got home, she is exhausted. It was worth it though to see the waterfall. It was a great day to hike since it was not too hot or too cold.

Well, I will try to be a little more active this month but no guarantees.

Back to In-Person at Work…

Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks. I was just busy and had very little to say so I kept it to myself. So, here I am today… I actually had an incredible week this week. I went back to work in person. I got to meet some of my students in person. I am still teaching them via Zoom but they are at school so I get to meet them. It is a complicated deal. It sounds like I will be teaching them in person pretty soon though. It was amazing to have the energy of the kids around and also to be around my coworkers.

The other part of it is that I get to dress up again to go to work. I am not gonna lie, it is fun to get out and be in the middle of others again. The other good news is that I have lost some weight during this quarantine so some of my old work clothes are a bit too big.

The first outfit I wore was a big success, I decided to make a statement by wearing my red pants with a neutral jacket and a fun scarf. The second day, I went with all pink and cream and finally on Thursday I wore my Spring flowery dress which was a big success. Lots of compliments! Not sure how much longer I will be able to wear it because it is a bit too big, but I will enjoy it while I can.

Well, thank you for reading and I will try to post my other work outfits in the following weeks.

Pretty in Pink

Hello everyone,

Here I am again in pink, one might even think pink is my favorite color, well it is not but I do really like it, especially this rose pink. This is a shirt from #FreePeople that my parents gave me for Christmas. I love the look and feel of it…

Well, I have to say this year is sure flying by, I cannot believe it is already March. I guess when all you do is go grocery shopping and spend the rest of the time at home, everyday looks the same. I do love working from home but I think I will enjoy going back to work in person next school year.

As far as another positive message, I have to say I have been so much more ZEN on my new job and it is even hard to believe. Our family is also looking at making some positive changes that I cannot share details yet but as soon as I can I will share with all of you and will include pictures.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned,

Sunny Winter Day…

Hello everyone,

I am sorry it has been so long. I have been going out much so I haven’t had nice looks to put in here. This last weekend Ben and I went out to run some errands and I decided to dress up and Ben found a beautiful Synagogue to take a couple pictures by.

I bought these boots a while ago and had not worn them yet (since I am working from home, I dress up for work but I only wear yoga/ballet socks in the house). These were a big success out and about and they are actually pretty comfortable.

As promised, here are my positive things for the past few weeks. I have gotten my second shot of the Covid vaccine and I did not get too sick, I have a headache but that is it so that is a positive in my book. 🙂

Another positive is that I finally got some of my students who normally don’t turn in assignments on time to turn it in even before they were due. I have also had more time to create some more fun activities for the kids which is also very positive.

My boys have stayed healthy and so has Ben even though he never stopped working during the pandemic, these are also very positive things to celebrate.

Making the effort to think more positive has been amazing and much healthier that one would ever expect. Makes me happy and I have been much calmer than ever before.
