Fall Time…

Fall Outfit

Hello everyone,

Here is another Fall outfit that I fell in love with once I made the combination, you can’t see my top under the white one. It had some sparkles…. I just liked that I was able to put so many pieces together and feel so good about it.

This fall has been definitely different so anytime I get to dress up and show off I am excited. I also feel like the weather has been different but maybe it is just that we are home more now and pay more attention to the weather, not sure…

I have been enjoying this fall, I make an effort to dress up everyday for work, I think that helps with my self-esteem and make my days more structured. Teaching online is going well, of course I would like to meet the kids in person and get to know more about their unique personalities but it has been an interesting experience so far.

I do find time to hang out with my family and we do wear our masks we just took them out quickly for the picture… I have so many masks and I actually enjoy showing them off.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more Holiday looks…

Puffy Vests…

Fall outfits.

Hello everyone,

Here I am again, I have to say I really liked this outfit. I liked that my pants happened to have the same colors as my top and personally I am really liking the vests this year. It could be because I am feeling colder since I am sitting at home and teaching instead of moving around as much as I have always done.

I got all of these clothes last year so nothing really new here, what is new is how I put it all together. Let’s just say I was feeling pretty good about myself in this outfit and had to share it here.

Favorite Sweater…

#FreePeople

Hello everyone,

For those of you know know me well, know that these colors are my favorite. They are all pastel colors with the mint green/Tiffany blue color that I absolutely love. Interestingly enough I have tennis shoes that matches the outfit perfectly but I had already taken them off before I took the picture.

The sweater is #FreePeople and the best part is that their sizes are very generous so I don’t have to feel so bad every time I shop. Their clothes are just so different and fun to wear that I can’t help but fall in love with them. Some are not meant for people my size or age but many of them work great!

I am not gonna lie, if I had to be going in person to work I would not be able to wear some of the pants you might see in my blog. However, since we are home I am taking advantage of some of the outfits I have. I do have plenty of school appropriate clothes and some you will. see here too.

Me and my best friend…

Lulu always by my side

Hello everyone,

I am not going to lie, this day I was not planning on getting my picture taken but a great opportunity appeared in between Lucas’s Senior pictures and voila…. Of course, Lulu is right by my side and I think she is getting better at taking pictures. This is a hard picture for me to look at but my husband has assured me I look beautiful so here it goes.

This is all part of the deal, becoming braver and stronger about what I look like. I think I have good style but I am sure it is not for everyone. I enjoy getting dressed up or dressed down in cute outfits and love when others notice but I do mainly for myself so I can feel good about who I am.

On this day, we also stopped at a place to watch the sunset so here I am with one of my masks. I have to say, this style is way more comfortable than the first style I was making, this one does not touch my nose and mouth which is very nice when you have to wear it for a while. Of course it helps that it has my pastel colors on the fabric too.

Fall dresses…

Hello everyone,

I decided to just add different outfits I have been wearing each day for work even though I am working from home.

Fall Yellow

This was a dress I found at #LaneBryant on one of those crazy sales where you buy one and get 2 free or something like it.

Fall Dresses

I was excited to be able to wear my booties again this season. I am slowly getting my booties out and pairing them with my fall outfits. I have so many boots it is ridiculous but I have accumulated them over the years so it is not like I bought them all at once.

I do have a funny story about my boots though. We recently moved to a bigger apartment and when it was time to pack up my boots we had an awful surprise. It turns out we had a mouse at the old apartment and he slowly moved Lulu’s food inside each one of my tall boot. The interesting thing is that they were all upside down so I have no idea how this mouse was able to do all that. (Ben had built me a tall boot storage thing with pipes so that they would stay straight throughout the summer while I was not wearing them.) As my mom shook them we probably had a couple of bowls worth of dog food that came from inside them. I did have to clean inside each boot so that I can even consider wearing them again 😉

I did really like how this dress turned out with the boots. Also, the weather has been perfect for this kind of outfits. Also, since we did not have our usual summer of going to the pool and getting a little color on my skin, I was anxious to be able to wear long sleeve, fall type clothes.

Fall has arrived…

Hello everyone,

I know the official date for fall was a couple of weeks ago, but today was the first day that actually felt like fall. It was rainy and chilly out, but still nice (I mean, not too cold). This means, it is boot season… It looks like the short boots and booties are here to stay at least another year. I, fortunately have a lot of boots so I don’t need to spend money this season.

So, here I am wearing my brown and black booties. They are nice and comfortable and match lots of things. The jeans I am wearing are #KhanKhan and I got them at #Buckle. There is a special thing about them though. My mom embroidered the leg with cute colorful flowers which make these pants very unique since no one else can have the same now. The shirt is from #LaneBryant and I got them on one of those crazy sales where you buy one and get two free.

One thing I want to mention since I will be showing more of them as I go, is the scarf, this one I happened to have gotten as a gift from an amazing friend who knows me well, it is the map of the world which is perfect for me since I love to travel. Because of this one, I started buying scarves everywhere I travel to so I have them as souvenirs. This is a great kind of souvenir since you can wear them and remember the amazing experiences you had while traveling. I will show them off here. I have from a lot of places but there are a couple places that no matter how much I looked I could not find it. Oh well!!!

Well, that is all I have for today… Thank you for reading,

5 Tips to organize your closet…

Hello everyone,

I finally did it, I have a walk-in closet…. I have dreamed of this my whole life. We moved to a slightly larger apartment in the same complex and it has the much coveted walk-in closet. I could not be more in love. I am simply head over heels with the space and the ability to stand there and choose my outfit for the next morning without having to dig for anything. It is simply AMAZING!

So here goes 5 TIPS TO ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET, these are just ideas that I have found helpful as I set up my closet.

  1. Get a few boxes (like the fabric ones you can see on the picture above) to put underwear, bras, socks and other smaller things.
  2. Have a few shelves on the sides (not under the hanging part), so that you can put the t-shirts and sweaters that cannot be hung (the ones that would stretch if you did so)
  3. Hang pants and shorter skirts on the lower hangers so that you can maximize the use of all the space. behind the pants you could potentially store small boxes with odds and ends that need a space or you could store boots and shoes there. (Of course,I have way too many shoes so I still have a beautiful shoe shelving that my husband made for me) 🙂
  4. Have small boxes for your jewelry so that they can be in the side shelving and easy to access as you choose your outfit.
  5. Finally, have some command strips of something you can hang one or two hangers with the outfit you choose for the next day. (Check out the Octopus I found in my favorite color)

I have my dream closet now and no more boxes and switching between seasons anymore. All of my clothes fit in the same place and I can see them all.

I absolutely love it!

Birthday Outfit…

Hello everyone,

As a lot of you have already experienced, this year our birthdays are not looking the same as other years. However, I made the best of it. I got up and dressed up with cute clothes and even did my makeup so I could feel special.

After teaching all day, Ben and I went out so I could get some of my freebies (it is always fun to go around some stores and get my free gifts). I also had some rewards from Buckle, so I got to buy a couple of things too for free. I got a lot of compliments which makes me think that maybe I should wear make up more often but I will hold up as long as I can. LOL 🙂

Good one

I really liked the combination I made in my outfit. The pants are from Kohls and the Kimono is from Maurices. I thought the pinks and blue looked nice and soft. Of course the mask is an accessory now so I chose a blue one too.

Working from home and looking good…

Hello everyone,

I thought it was about time I came back and gave an update.

I am currently teaching from home full time and I am loving it. I really enjoy getting up in the morning, getting ready and sitting at my desk. No traffic involved is very nice and relaxing. My students seem to be in a routine now so it is all good.

Meanwhile, we moved to a bigger apartment (in the same complex) and we love having the extra room but I have to say I do not enjoy moving. We still have lots of boxes to go through. The move was a different one since we could just walk things over from one apartment to the other.

Lulu wasn’t sure of what was really going on at first but she did so well walking by us without a leash while we carried stuff back and forth. She is too smart for her own good some times.

On another note, I have just come to the conclusion that I must have expired at age 40 because lots of things are going wrong. Today I went to the dentist and now I need to remove a tooth that was broken by a wisdom tooth. I told Ben he should exchange me for a new model but he said I am a classic so he will just get me all fixed up. LOL 🙂

I thought I would share here the outfit I chose today, I decided that even though I am home I might as well wear my outfits because it makes me feel good. I have even been wearing the shoes and not just flip flops. I got the top at Cabelas of all places and the pants are from Lane Bryant. Very comfortable pants too. The shoes came from Nordstrom Rack for a very good sale price too.

Well, I don’t have an awful lot to say because during this pandemic not much happens so nothing more…

Surviving 2020…

Hello everyone,

I am not going to say “What else can 2020 bring?” because it has become very clear that a lot more can happen and 2020 is rising up every time.

The last couple of weeks, we in the Pacific Northwest, suffered with lots of smoke and unprecedented amount of fires and people displaced due to fires. It is so sad to see all of the damage and it was horrible to look outside and see all yellow for a whole week. I felt like I was inside a smoke globe instead of a snow globe.

Thank goodness the rain came yesterday and the air seems to be back to normal but I know there are still fires being fought in some areas. Some days I feel like this is all a test to see if humanity will start behaving better but it does not seem to be working for some.

I have stopped watching the news because frankly, it is just too negative and sad. I really don’t need all this negativity in my life. I am part of a challenge with a friend so I started meditating everyday and because of my new job I am praying several times a day. I have to say, this has made a huge difference in my life. I feel much calmer throughout the day. I feel more centered and ready to take on just about anything. I think I am also happier.

In the last couple of months I have gone to some doctors and to be honest every time I see one I get some bad news (nothing huge, but bad nonetheless). My vitamins levels are really low, my iron is low, I have diabetes and some other small things. Because of all of these, I have been feeling a little more fragile, especially in light of the Coronavirus. I feel that if I were to get it, it would not be pretty and even though I am not very old, I could have some difficulties getting over it.

Well, I am doing the best I can to protect myself and not be exposed. I am thankful Oregon has done a good job at protecting us and our numbers are not nearly as scary as other states.

So, I am taking day by day. I am even afraid to say that I am actually enjoying teaching via Zoom and being able to get up in the morning, and just going to my desk for work. I could definitely get used to this.

This is a trying year, and only meditation and praying will get me through it and to the other side. Here is to better days ahead of us…
