January 2019…

This was a crazy busy month and unfortunately I have not had much time to get pictures taken to update the blog. I will have a little more time from now on which makes me excited. I have started working on some designs to sew for myself. I have the fabric and drawings ready to go, just need to find the right time to sit down and work on it.

Check out my new shirt I got at Maurices a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful navy blue shirt and I particularly love the necklace because it is my favorite color after all. The nice thing about this shirt is that it works on its own and it could be worn with light pink pants, mint green pants, khaki pants or even navy blue pants. It is a very versatile shirt.

Now, in terms of my hair, this is the solution I found to cover my thinking hair that shows even more because of the calicos I have on the back. So I found a solution to make me feel less self conscious about it. This outfit got me a lot of compliments which is always nice to hear.

Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned for my new February outfits… I have been doing some shopping and I am excited to share what I have put together.

Nude Nails

Believe it or not, I never thought I would get my nails done this color but I thought it was time for a change. I also got to do matte for the first time. I have to say I love my nails and having them this color is not so bad. It will certainly match everything I wear. I have a colleague who normally chooses these kinds of colors and I usually give her a hard time but now I understand. Of course I had to have at least the party nail with some sparkle, it is still me and I need my flare after all. Well, this week I just wanted to stop by to show my new nail color.

A weekend to relax and recharge…

A winter day at the beach.

Hello everyone,
I had a very difficult week at work and needed to get away to relax and recharge. This will be a busy month and I need to be ready for it. So we decided to take an impromptu trip to the coast.
Some of you may know that my favorite colors are the mint green or tiffany blue. As a result, half of my wardrobe is that color nowadays. I love how the colors are so bright on this picture and how my amazing husband was able to capture them. The sky matches my jacket…. amazing…
Being near the ocean and walking on the beach is so relaxing and helps me get centered again. As you can see, this was fairly early in the day and it was still a bit chilly by the water so I had to wear my hat and scarf. As the day progressed it got nicer and nicer to the point we could just wear a long sleeve shirt and feel comfortable. Living an hour away from the beach has been one of the best things ever. I feel so much better after I spend sometime near the water.

Work outfit

Dressed to impress

Hello everyone,
I found this dress at Roz & Ali which used to be Dressbarn. To be very honest I had never been able to find much at this store but as soon as I saw this dress I fell in love with it. Interestingly enough I did not get many compliments on this piece but I felt pretty good wearing it. It is a comfortable dress and I think it can be dressed up or down depending on the shoes and jewelry I would wear with it. Also, it is sleeveless so it could go from winter to summer or at least spring. I think the flowers help camouflage the parts of my body I don’t feel very comfortable with. It was perfect for my day at work except that my feet were pretty tired at the end of the day since these are not the most comfortable boots I own.

Dressing for the snow…

Hello everyone,

I have to say that my husband has outdone himself with these pictures. I have also decided I should probably only take pictures of myself in the winter. I love my stocking caps and scarves. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do. It was a fun day in the snow at Mt. Hood! It is not always easy finding hats I can wear because of my allergies but lately I have been able to find some that work and I love them.

A Day at Work

Animal Print for work

Hello everyone,
Since I had to visit a student at his school I had to dress up as usual. I have to say that this jacket is a great find. I wear all black underneath and use the red scarf for the pop of color. It is specially nice to wear the red one at this time of the year since it is Christmas.
I also want to point out how blessed we have been this year… Check out the pile of gifts behind me. I can’t help but feel guilty about it but I have to say that most gifts were made by me. I made stuff for almost everyone on my list this year. There is something specially gratifying about making gifts myself.
Well, I will have some more pictures to post tomorrow and later this week because I am planning a photoshoot in the snow. Stay tuned!

Christmas Nails

Christmas Nails

Hello everyone,

This year, I decided to decorate the whole house in blue and silver since the light blue and mint green colors are my favorite. So when I went to get my nails ready for the season, I was ready to do it in red and then I realized that if my whole house was blue and silver, why not get my nails in blue too. I love the result, it looks so fresh and festive with the sparkling silver. As usual, Jenny Vo did a wonderful job on my nails and my toes match too.

Well, I don’t have much else to say today. I will try to get some pictures over the Christmas break so that I can add here some of the new outfits I have bought recently.

5 Things to do in the Fall…

Fall

Hello everyone,

I am not one to say that I love fall but this year I had some wonderful experiences in the fall.

  1. Going to the Northeast of the US was one of them. The leaves are so beautiful and they make for wonderful pictures. Also, as far as fashion goes, it is a great season because you can show off your outfits without heavy coats and you can have fun with layers too.
  2.  Another great day this fall was at the coast, not too cold that we can barely enjoy ourselves and not rainy either… You saw some of the amazing pictures my husband got of my outfits while wandering around the coasts.
  3. Go shopping with a friend, stopping for a coffee and sitting outside since the weather still permits it.
  4. Go out on photography trips around town and anywhere with trees. It sure helps that my hubby loves photography though… We end up with some great shots.
  5. This one is for children, but I would guess that jumping into a pile of leaves would be amazing…

Sorry everyone, but this week I could not get myself to take a picture of any outfits, frankly I felt like I was not looking good at all because of my size. I am hoping that with the change of seasons I will be up for more pictures…

A day at the coast…

So what does one wear for a day at the beach in the cold? A few layers would be a good start. Here I am wearing a thin light green sweatshirt (you can barely see it though), a plaid flannel shirt and a puffy vest. It was perfect for a beautiful day at the coast. Pants and boots were a good choice for walking on the sand and near the water.

This year I have embraced the vests, they seem to be just the perfect weight for this kind of weather.

Fall Color 2018 – Wine Color

Wine color nails

Duster vest

Hello everyone,

I guess the color for this fall is light rose pinks and wine (deep dark red) color. I even got the boots to match it. I got a lot of compliments on the outfit above. And it is a pretty simple one, black leggings, wine color boots, same color shirt from Maurices (they have the same shirt in more than one color by the way, I myself got the same in two different colors to wear with my long vests). This particular long vest I got at Nordstrom Rack and I fell in love with it the minute I tried it on.

I think the nails are a nice touch for this time of the year. Plus they match a lot of my clothes now. Thank you Jenny Vo!!!
